Georg Schomerus

Georg Schomerus is professor of psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry, Greifswald University, Germany. After earning his medical doctorate in Freiburg in 2002 he received his postgraduate training in clinical psychiatry in Hannover and Leipzig. He is author of more than 100 peer reviewed scientific papers, dealing with the stigma of substance use, public attitudes towards mental disorder, help-seeking, and inequality and health-service use. He is the first author of a memorandum on substance use stigma issued by the German Ministry of Health.
